CHILDREN’S SAFETY
We are very proud to be a family-friendly festival. However there are a few things to note before your family arrive.
We don’t allow anyone under 16 to be at the festival without an adult of 18 or over.
Children under 10 years old need to be accompanied on site at all times.
If you are happy for your child aged 10 – 12 years to walk through the arena entrance without you, then you can get an Authorised Unaccompanied Wristband from any wristband exchange.
Any children 13 years or under without one of these wristbands, or any children under 10 found on their own, will be looked after by the welfare team and we will try and get in touch with their parent/guardian.
All under 16s need to be accompanied by an over 18 through the entry and exit gates to the festival site.
TIP: Take a photo of your children on your mobile phone in the morning so that you have the most recent photo on you.
FAMILY CAMPING
The Family Campsite zone is our dedicated area for families with children 16 or under at the festival. The site features dedicated toilets, showers, washing up facilities and a convenience store and food traders. The family campsite zone is shown on the map in pink. To stay in the Family Campsite, you will need to purchase the 5-night tickets for teens or children in addition to your adult 5-night ticket. You will need to arrive at the campsite together as a family. Please be sure to choose the correct option when purchasing.
Those staying in the Family Camping Zone will have access to our Family Car Park, located close to the Family Campsite Zone to minimise your journey from car to tent.
No single or groups of adults will be permitted in the Family Campsite Zone unless accompanied by children 16 or under. Due to limited space, the Family Campsite Zone is restricted to relatives and guardians of children.
Groups of friends and other family members who arrive without children should camp in the friends campsite zone.
TROLLEY SERVICE
There will be a trolley service available for those looking for an extra bit of help with their luggage. This can be arranged at the main entry gate.
AGE RESTRICTIONS
Children 0 – 4 years do not need a ticket. Children 5 – 12 years need a Child Ticket in order to attend. Teenagers who are between 13 – 15 years need an Accompanied Teen Ticket. These are available to purchase at the same time as regular tickets
Under 10s must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over AT ALL TIMES.
We do not accept any parental or supervisory duty of care or liability for any under 18’s on site.
Teenagers 16 and over must have an adult ticket. All under 16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is over 18 years old and this adult must remain on site throughout the weekend. Those wishing to stay in the Family Campsite must have children 16 years or younger in the group.
Age restrictions apply. Proof of age/ID may be required.
Secret Sessions Festival may contain acts unsuitable for children. The acts noted in the website as ‘child’ friendly’ are purely recommendations and the final judgement and responsibility for what a child sees remains with the parent.
Films may be shown and may be classified as 15 or 18 certificate. However, there may be some films shown suitable for children at certain periods of the day. This will be noted on signage outside the tent.
Cabaret shows may contain nudity. Comedy shows may contain swearing. Other stages may feature material not suitable for children that we are unable to predict and classify due to the nature of live performance.
